Since the onset of the COVID pandemic, millions of workers have left their jobs. We are, in early 2022, in one of the tightest job markets in decades. Why? People are leaving
and because another employer would pay them more. It's some kind of weird free agency boom. Long gone is the same job for 35 years, 20, even ten. But we know we can leverage our talent for higher wages, which might make difficult work cultures more bearable.
The pandemic adds a level of stress no one can escape. Anxiety is understandably through the roof. Upheaval is the norm.
Part of personal and culture change is leveraging Emotional Intelligence. Part of the fabric of life in 2022 is mass trauma, in addition to whatever history of trauma we have. We need all the skills we can muster.
